LISPLOCK is a programmers tool. It is intended to add a
level of security and copyright protection to your normally
vulnerable LISP and DCL source code. A locked LISP or DCL file is
virtually impossible to read, making it very hard for someone to
modify your source code. This is advantageous if you are
selling/distributing LISP and DCL files and want to ensure they
are not 'stolen' by outside sources. You can spend a lot of time
figuring out how to get a routine to work and there is nothing
more frustrating than having someone grab your files, change a
few lines, and call it their own. It also helps prevent 'hackers'
from playing around in your source code. It does this in two
parts, first by marking the file as read-only, and secondly by
encoding the file into a mess of words that most people will not
try to modify.
