A2A ver 2.3 for R14 - A2A (ACAD to Access) gathers Object property data across multiple drives and directories from ACAD R14 drawings, stores that data and manages the drawings themselves so the derived data sets and the original
drawings remain in synch and secure.

All available drawing Object property values are saved into a Microsoft Access '97 database called dbDrawingData.mdb and are available to A2A's program administrator.

Once drawings have been analyzed by A2A anyone with Access experience can quickly create, for example, custom Bills of Material by simply querying the database using drawing names, Block Names and Attribute values as query criteria. Or quickly count, or calculate the value of, any Objects as they appear on any particular drawing or group of drawings.

If there are 10,000 drawings from 10,000 network sources, each named "OneOfTenThousand.dwg", all identical except one Object on one of the drawings has been moved .00001" on its "Z" coordinate, identifying that drawing, that Object, its Layer and Coordinates or InsertionPoint would be as quick and simple as writing a UniqueRecords query in Access.

If, of the 10, 000 drawings mentioned above, the one with the moved Object is the "right" drawing, the "next" version of the drawing, the "working" drawing, A2A's program administrator can quickly identify and "archive" it.

The ArchivedDrawing, available only to A2A's program administrator, is then automatically copied into an AvailableDrawing directory that's created by A2A where, as the "right", "next", "working" drawing it overwrites earlier versions and is available to anyone with a need for it.

The ArchivedDrawing and the data sets in dbDrawingData.mdb that relate to it remain sacrosanct. They can be deleted but are never overwritten by A2A.

Open source, commented, fully functioning samples of database functions using dbDrawingData.mdb with ACAD R14 drawings are available from A2A's Samples page.
