BLKLIB.exe is an automatic utility for AutoCAD or AutoCAD for Windows. It is designed to create Block Library Files, *.BLF for automatic block insertion into AutoCAD drawing files.
The users prepares a drawing file queue by selecting any AutoCAD drawing file (*.DWG) from a directory listing. Once the drawing file queue is complete, BLKLIB.exe creates a Block Library File, .BLF. A dialog box appears on the screen, allowing the user to select or enter the name of the Block Library File.
The Block Library File is an ASCII text file containing the AutoCAD drawing Files listed in the Drawing File queue. The file name contains the full path as well.
Once the user opens a new drawing in AutoCAD, he/she loads and executes the AutoLISP program BLKLIB.lsp. BLKLIB.lsp will open the selected Block Library File, read each line one at a time, and begin to insert each AutoCAD drawing file in a 3 x 5 array per 8.5" x 11" sheet. Multiple sheets will be created as needed. BLKLIB.dwg is the AutoCAD drawing file that is inserted to create each sheet.
To print all sheets to a Laser Jet printer, load and execute the AutoLISP program BLSHTPLT.lsp
NOTE: BLKLIB.exe, BLKLIB.lsp, BLKLIB.dwg, and BLSHTPLT.lsp can be used for both DOS and Windows based AutoCAD, Releases 12 and 13.
